Atten-hut. Muskogee is the only city its size to have a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office, and now it has expanded.
In 2008, the office added a national call center to help answer questions that veterans might have. With the addition of the call center and its 110 workers, the Veterans Affairs Regional Office now has a workforce of 750 employees.
The call center was added primarily to assist veterans with any questions about their health benefits. It occupies a 24,000-square-foot space in a remodeled grocery store near East Side Boulevard and East Okmulgee Avenue.
